The number of new homes available is at a 10 year low, with many of these properties unavailable on the affordable homes market. In a bid to tackle this crisis, we are proud to be creating 26 affordable properties at our latest development in Truro, Trispen Meadows.

Working in partnership with LiveWest, the South West’s largest provider of affordable homes, has enabled local families to access the new homes at Trispen Meadows. LiveWest have over 36,000 homes across the region and will manage the rented and shared ownership homes at the scheme.

Our ongoing partnership with LiveWest and Ocean Housing, who supported the 10 affordable homes at nearby development Penrose View, is the start of many collaborations with affordable homes providers, both in Cornwall and across the South West in Devon and Dorset.

Increasing affordable housing in the region forms part of Cornwall Council’s key areas for development. The county was awarded the second highest national allocation of New Homes Bonus in 2017, ensuring more new affordable homes become available. Mike Eathorne-Gibbons, Cornwall Council Cabinet Member representing the area including St Erme and Trispen, said: “I am delighted with this development. It meets a long overdue need for local affordable housing. The property designs and layout of the site are excellent. I’m sure tenants and owners will be very pleased with their new homes. I wish them well.”

David Matthews, Development Director at Burrington Estates New Homes, said, “We have built a great partnership with LiveWest that we hope to continue to strengthen as we build more homes across the region. Affordable housing is absolutely vital to the growth of the housing market in Truro, and we’re proud to offer an average of 30% affordable new homes on our developments.”

Shaun Marsden, Site Manager at Trispen Meadows, spoke for the whole team, “Whether we are welcoming new homeowners or tenants moving into their rented or shared ownership homes, our main aim is to create wonderful communities where people feel welcome and, most importantly, at home.”

Trispen Meadows is a collection of 85 new homes within the delightful village of Trispen. With nearby access to Truro, popular seaside towns and the Cornish countryside, the new homes have been greatly received on the open market. Each of the homes have been designed to be in keeping with the local surroundings and make use of local materials.

Work on the £2.75 million scheme began in October 2017 with the first new affordable homes handed over in November of this year.

Executive Director at LiveWest, Russell Baldwinson, said “We are delighted to be working alongside Burrington Estates. We are really impressed with the scheme and the quality of the homes. Our customers will be delighted.”

Open market properties at Trispen Meadows, a mix of two, three and four bedroom new homes, are available from £210,000. Help to buy, part exchange and a range of assisted purchase schemes are available. Contact trispen.meadows@burringtonestates.com.
