Maer View

Poughill Road, Bude, Cornwall, EX23 8NZ

21 four-bedroom contemporary detached homes on the stunning Cornish coastline.

For some, Cornwall is a tourist destination; perhaps a beach or specific beauty spot to take the perfect picture. For the Cornish, however, this beautiful, rugged, charming landscape runs deep through their blood. It is home in every sense of the word. Burrington Estates will pay tribute to this tradition by building a new collection of luxury homes in the heart of its northernmost town.

Maer View takes its name from Maer Lake, which is protected by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. As an established ornithological site, the reserve is a wetland meadow with open water features, boasting grazing animals and wildfowl. The homes have been named to pay homage to the variety of rare birds that can be seen frequenting the lake throughout the year.

Ensuring Maer View keeps Burrington Estates’ reputation for excellence moving forward into a cleaner, more environmentally friendly world, the collection of homes benefit from sustainable technology, promoting a greener lifestyle and paving the way for future generations. Air-source heat pumps providing underfloor heating to the ground floor will feature in every property, in addition to wildlife friendly bee bricks, with the option for PV solar panels and electric car charging points to be added to each home.

Burrington Estates’ name flows through Cornwall, with enchanting developments in idyllic locations such as Truro, Fowey and Illogan, proving that our assurance of delivering luxurious, executive homes is at the forefront of our commitment to Cornish life.

Poughill, Bude

Previously a bustling harbour town, Bude is now famed for its reinvention into a prominent holiday destination. The notoriety of its craggy coast comes at the cost of numerous ships that lie in wreck on the jagged reefs, which fringe the base of the cliffs.

Bude is a popular destination for many lifestyle activities but is known primarily for its assortment of outdoor leisure pursuits, such as surfing. Local beaches include Crooklets and Summerleaze, the latter being home to the ‘Pepper Pot’. Built in 1835 as a refuge for the coastguard, this picturesque landmark was modelled after the ‘Temple of the Winds’ in Athens by famed Devonshire architect George Wightwick. Bude Sea Pool, a tidal lido in the rocks of the very same beach, is another example of the towns renowned coastal features.

Within walking distance is the beautiful Maer Lake, a protected wetland where the development inherits its name. Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club is situated in the centre of town and provides 18 holes of enjoyable yet challenging golf, a course that is rarely unplayable due to its natural, all-weather fairways and greens.

Maer View is located 22 miles from the seaside town of Bideford and only 51 miles from Exeter city, ensuring a luxurious city break is never far away. However, there is very little reason to leave this charming town, as Bude boasts a collection of fantastic schools, and the town centre features a charming array of boutique shops.
