What is Stamp Duty?


Stamp Duty, or Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) is a Government tax that has to be paid on most property purchases over £125,000 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.


How much will I pay?


The amount of Stamp Duty you pay depends on your status as a buyer and the value of your new Burrington Estates home. Following the Autumn Budget in November 2017, Stamp Duty was abolished for first time buyers when they purchase a home with the value less than £300,000. For first-time buyers who purchase a home with a value between £300,001 and £500,000, you will need to pay 5% of the purchase price.
