Burrington Estates New Homes are proud sponsors of the Sidmouth Rugby Football Club.
When we were invited to attend a presentation by the team, how could we refuse!
The sun shone on a crisp Autumnal Sunday morning at the Sidford Pavilion rugby pitches. Players of all ages were given their new rugby kit with the warning of ‘please don’t get it dirty, we’re having a photo’, within minutes and oblivious of the warning, the 7 year olds were head locked in a scrum and with a try scored in their ‘kick about’ match, they resulted in a chaotic heap on the ground!
The Managers organised their team of junior and girl’s rugby players who stood patiently waiting for the click of the photographer who at this point, was balanced on a pair of ladders. The children were smiling perfectly and were eager to play a game of rugby!
Marketing Co-ordinator Nicola Russell was presented with a rugby shirt from the Chairman Matt Barrett, she says “it was a lovely morning seeing the next generation expressing appreciation for their new kit, from everyone at Burrington Estates, we wish all the budding young players the very best for the future and season ahead”.
Award winning property developer Burrington Estates New Homes has announced the name of a new nature trail in Manadon Park following a competition with local school children. Pupils at Manadon Vale Primary School were invited to name a woodland walk surrounding the developer’s largest development in the city, The Quarters.
The Heart of Oak Nature Trail was officially opened last week at a ribbon cutting ceremony. Burrington Estates New Homes met with Sarah Ryder, Head Teacher at Manadon Vale Primary School, and three local school children who took part in the competition. Seven year old Olivia Green was awarded first prize for her name ‘Heart of Oak’, winning a £50 Waterstones voucher. Two runners up, Mckenzie Hyatt who submitted the name ‘Maritime Walk’ and Isaac Briggs who put forward ‘Mayflower Walk’, received a £20 and £10 Waterstones voucher respectively.
A walkway with newly planted trees, flowers and a level pathway has been created surrounding the new homes at The Quarters and is open for both residents and community use. The nature trail forms part of Burrington Estates New Homes plans to provide more community spaces and improve local wildlife, with the development also home to The Burrington Butterfly Garden.
Olivia went on to cut the ribbon on site to reveal an engraved plaque with her family from school present, as well as some of the Burrington Estates New Homes team. The children then visited the Burrington Butterfly Garden, which has been created to encourage butterflies to the local area.
Colin Palmer, Managing Director at Burrington Estates New Homes, said: “It’s important to Burrington Estates to be able to enhance nature and wildlife wherever possible at our sites and support the local community. The Quarters held a unique opportunity for us to work collaboratively with the local community to create this walkway, which will allow families in the area to enjoy it for years to come. It was a pleasure working with Manadon Vale Primary School again and we were delighted to welcome them on site to open this special walkway.”
Sarah Ryder, Head Teacher at Manadon Vale, said: “It was wonderful for the pupils to take part in such a community-focused project and produce something that will be a tangible part of Manadon’s history. Everyone enjoyed the chance to be creative throughout the naming process and really got stuck in.
Olivia was thrilled that her name was chosen to represent the nature walk, and we really enjoyed heading down to site for the ribbon cutting ceremony, which was a real stand out moment for her that I’m sure she’ll remember for some time.”
Burrington Estates New Homes will ensure the walkway remains a key part of the community for many years to come and will continue with the maintenance following the completion of the build programme.
The Quarters is now 62% sold, with two and three bedroom high specification new homes still available to reserve, perfect for new homeowners or growing families. The homes come complete with a range of premium fittings and fixtures such as luxury fitted carpets, British-designed kitchens and fully integrated appliances. Prices available from £250,000*. Match report 26th January 2019:
The under 16s team recently played against Tavistock Community the match started well and after dominating the majority of the first half, SB Frankfort eventually broke the deadlock and were leading by 1-0 at half time. The second half was a muddy battle but the boys worked hard and held on for a well-deserved win. 1-0 final score.
Coach Greg says “I’d like to say a big thank you from myself, my two assistants Ben and Ian and the squad for sponsoring our side. Without the kind sponsorship of local businesses, it would be very difficult to run a side as it can be quite expensive with pitch fees, training facilities, equipment and kits etc. Along with the players seasonal fees this all helps us as a club provide the boys with a positive environment and good facilities to train and play in all while looking good at the same time.”
On Monday 4th February the streets of Exeter saw students suited and booted ready for their week of work experience. The Burrington Estates New Homes team welcomed Ethan from St Luke’s Science and Sport College in Exeter.

Nine members of the new homes team and friends were ready to compete against 11 other teams in the foam-tastic, inflatable, family fun day raising money for Cornwall Hospice Care.
The day saw local residents and holiday makers enjoy the entertainment, with a dog show, horse riding event, BBQ, live band and circus games as well as the mighty ‘It’s a Knockout’ final game.
12 teams in total took part in the 7 different obstacle stations which consisted of tunnel diving, climbing, ball throwing, hoop flying, group sack racing, space hopping, dancing and more.
It was a great event that was held at the St Erme Cricket Club in Trispen organised by The Trispen Funday committee, just a stone’s throw away from Burrington Estates new homes development; Trispen Meadows. Over £600 was raised for Cornwall Hospice Care with donations still being collected.
