A collection of luxury four and five bedroom homes called ‘The Grove’ is set to be built in Rockbeare, Devon, following a land acquisition by award-winning developer, Burrington Estates New Homes.
The 1.62 acre site off High Bank, Rockbeare, has detailed planning permission for a collection five dwellings, a mix of four and five bedroom homes. Rockbeare adds to the developer’s expanding portfolio in the South West, which includes the new homes at EXIII in Topsham and 120 properties set to launch in Pinhoe in early 2019.
The village of Rockbeare is a highly desirable location in the Devonshire countryside. The site has excellent road and rail links with Exeter and wider East Devon. Neighbouring town, Cranbrook, provides a number of local amenities including a supermarket, doctors surgery as well as primary and secondary schools.
As with all Burrington Estates New Homes developments, the homes at The Grove will be built to a high standard. Each of the five properties will include well-designed kitchens with integrated appliances, spacious family rooms and good-size bedrooms. The homes will benefit from double garages, excellent garden sizes and a private access road leading into the development.
Burrington Estates New Homes will contribute to the local infrastructure levy and are working closely with the local parish council to ensure construction progresses smoothly.
Colin Palmer, Managing Director at Burrington Estates New Homes, commented: “Whether we are launching five individual homes, like The Grove in Rockbeare, or a larger collection coming soon to Pinhoe, we give the same care and attention to detail to the build and customer service for each and every one of our new homes. Rockbeare has been specially selected by our developments team as it is a highly desirable place to live in the region, and ideally placed for for these luxury five bedroom properties.”
Colin continued: “We have already received a great level of interest and would urge anyone interested to contact a member of our sales team, or speak to one of the team at our sales office at EXIII Topsham.”

Recent budget plans have been highlighted in the media, revealing that the Help to Buy equity loan scheme will be succeeded in 2021 by a new first-time buyer only, Help to Buy scheme which will run for two years.
Burrington Estates New Homes welcomes the Help to Buy Extension, offering the scheme available on all sites throughout 2019. The Government funded scheme allows you to buy a brand-new home up to the value of £600,000 (in England) with just a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage up until 2021, this will then be superseded by the new scheme for first time buyers only on new homes up to the value of £349,000 in the South West.
The current scheme is available to first time buyers and existing home owners that wish to purchase a new build property. The Government will provide an equity loan of up to 20% of the value of the property, and it is interest free for the first five years, it can then be repaid at any time within 25 years (or the term of the mortgage) or on the sale of the property.
