A new collection of 10 one, two and three bedroom affordable homes have been specially created at our development, Penrose View, Truro in a bid to tackle the current UK housing crisis.
We have worked in partnership with a leading Cornish social housing provider, Ocean Housing. the homes have been completed and handed over to Ocean Housing, who have begun moving tenants in to a mix of rent and shared ownership homes.
With an average of 30% affordable homes on our developments, we are committed to providing affordable housing within the region and are currently developing further affordable homes at our nearby development, Trispen Meadows, in Trispen, Truro alongside our sites in Plymouth, Exeter and upcoming site in Dorset.
We are aiming to deliver more rural homes throughout the South West and are actively seeking suitable sites in local communities where there is a need for affordable housing.
Burrington Estates New Homes enjoys close working relationships with a number of social housing providers, including Liverty, formerly known as Devon and Cornwall Housing.
Penrose View is a collection of 28 new homes within the delightful village of Shortlanesend. With nearby access to Truro, popular seaside towns and the Cornish countryside, the new homes were hotly anticipated on the open market with the 18 new properties now fully sold out. Each of the homes, including the affordable properties, have been designed to be in keeping with the local surroundings and make use of local materials.
Work on the £1.2 million scheme began in September 2017 with the new affordable homes completed and handed over in August 2018. Taylor Lewis, a local property agent, have been working alongside Ocean Housing throughout the transfer of the new homes.

The scheme, a combination of rent and shared ownership housing, has been officially handed over Ocean Housing – and its tenants have already started moving in to their new homes.
